Tumblr Art Challenge

This was for an art challenge on Tumblr where you were given two palettes and you had to create an image using only those colours. Mine is just really simple, but I really enjoyed using limited colours.

These are just a few sketches out of my gesture and life drawing sketchbook. I am horrid at life drawing but I gotta keep trying. =] I have got a lot more but because I drew these in an A3 sketchbook it's awkward to scan them in on my A4 scanner.

Obsession 2

So this is what I ended up with, I disliked the other version and just winged this I was tired of doing everything so neat all the time. If I didn't gain weight I would neat chocolate obsessively until I was sick and I'd regret nothing! C:

Obsession

This is a work in progress for 'Illustration Friday' the theme this week is 'Obsession'. I have started colouring this digitally but not sure if I like it, I'm thinking about getting an A4 light box so I can transfer it onto watercolour paper since I doodled this on a random piece of paper. =]

Alice finished

The finished piece, though I think I'll make some adjustments tomorrow there's a few mistakes I missed and I might fiddle with the background some more and definitely re-do those blood stains, I forgot to do them and did it last minute.

Alice Work in Progress

Current piece I'm working on, I mentioned I'd been playing the new Alice game so I fancied drawing some fan art. I still need to colour her hair, finish the background and colour the card guards in. =]

Update

I haven't posted anything for a while, mostly because I've been doing a lot of gesture drawing in my sketchbooks and my scanner wont work with Photoshop CS5 (which I recently got) so I have to use my scanner/printer/copier which isn't as good. I'll be uploading those asap.

 I've also been buying a lot of animated films recently like The Road to El Dorado, The Iron Giant, Hercules, How to Train your Dragon, Tangled and Coraline mostly to re-watch them because I hadn't seen them in ages but I'd never watched Coraline before and I am SO glad I did. It's a lovely film and so well made, I watched the extras and it's so interesting and amazing to see how they do everything, really inspiring stuff, for me any way. I also recently purchased and finished the video game Alice: Madness Returns, not the sort of game I'd usually play (I'm not really a gore person) but it was really fun and I really liked the style and the whole look of the game was really nice, definitely creeped me out haha. xD

So since this is mostly a text post I might as well add a drawing I finished recently while trying some things out in CS5.

I was getting a bit frustrated with doing lineless all the time so I decided to do some lines and try out something different, not sure why I drew Ariel but yes. xD

Vampire lady

Haven't updated for a while so here's a doodle that took me ages to colour. =] It's sort of a re-do of a drawing I did when I was in my first year of my BTEC course. Also...I realise I positioned her necklace all wrong I somehow forgot I was drawing her upside down. xD

Just a doodle I decided to colour on Photoshop and an excuse to mess around with textured brushes. C: I should be doing my very boring essay but I'd much rather to be doing stuff like this.

Now that I'm done for easter and finished that children's book project I've got some free time on my hands. So I've been playing Dissidia 012 and been using Tifa a lot so I decided to draw her. =]

Background work in progress

The collage trees from before but I added a background and added the bird and dragonfly, I still need to make a ladybird and butterfly. Not sure if I like this or not, cutting away the white background was a huge pain in the bum~ I might just add the hills and sky by hand instead of in Photoshop when I do the final image.

Evie

This is the FINAL design for my character, who I decided to call 'Evie' my mum helped me choose the colours from the previous post. xD I had wanted to give her a patterned coat but decided it'd be too much and she might end up blending too much into the background.

Children's Story character 2

Another doodle of the character from yesterday, changed her hair a bit though. I'm still unsure of a story for her...I had wanted to do something like she travelled a lot (or went to lots of different places not necessarily of this world) and had some sort of animal companion but I dunno yet.

Rosa Sketch

Just did a sketch of Rosa Farrell from Final Fantasy 4, I'm glad they remade that game for the DS. =] I decided to leave out her under cape thing because it was starting to get very crowded. xD I'll probably colour this at some point as well.

The Boy and the Bear

This is an original character I made a while ago, I still need to re-do or figure out his background and such, but I decided to give him a baby polar bear companion. =] He was originally for the WormWood project on DeviantArt but that's on hiatus at the moment but it's simply a school for creatures, demons, vampires, mythical characters, magical characters and such. This guy here (Landon) is a shapeshifter so he doesn't look any different than a normal human really.
